 abstract={Efficiency of investment decision depends on many factors and assumptions. In the paper the author tried to verify the hypothesis about significant influence of market value and kind of economic activity of public companies on rate of return. Research deals with two different periods: decreasing and increasing prices of shares. The procedure that has been used was based on analysis of variance. The author formulated diagnosis about an optimal number of clusters by means of a measure of heterogeneity based on entropy function.},
