 abstract={Strategic management is a relatively young discipline. It is only about 40 years old. In spite of this fact in its fames a lot of strategic approaches (schools of strategic thought) have developed. The most important of them in a chronological order are: planistic, positioning, emergent and resource-based. The main goal of this article is to compare these approaches in the aspect of: assumptions, essence of the strategy, goal of the strategy, relation with surroundings, its strong and weak points.},
