 abstract={European Groupings of Cross-border Cooperation (EGCC) are a new proposal of creation of the appropriate instrument of common cohesion policy in the years 2007-2013. EGCC should facilitate the realization of the Objective 3, which means supporting of European territorial cooperation. The main issue of analysis that has been carried out in this article is that the proposal of creation of the EGCC should be assessed positively in spite of many existing yet vaguenesses regarding the principles of functioning of new institution and some essential threats, which it brings for the interest of municipal and local authorities participating in cross-border, transnational and interregional cooperation.},
