Some of the above operations of the EU enterprises are accomplished on the EU area and some - in the non-member economies. The paper examines the evolution of the share of the intra-EU exports and imports goods in the total trade of the EU countries and, in the same way, the geographical structure of the FDI. The analysis concerns the time between 1990 and 2000. In the analysed period, the decreasing trend for the share of the internal exports and imports in the global foreign trade was observed in the majority of countries. Still, half or more of exports and imports of the EU countries are performed in the internal market. Moreover, in the examined period, a strong concentration of the FDI in the EU market occured. Besides, the EU companies invested in the United States, the EFTA countries and Asia (excluding Japan). In conclusion, the European single market and the initial phase of the Economic and Monetary Union generated favourable conditions for further integration of the EU firms and for their expansion to the world market.}, type={artykuł}, title={Integracja handlowa i kapitałowa w Unii Europejskiej}, }
